For as long as he can remember, Abdelhak Khanboubi’s hands have been attracted to clay. Abdelhak, known by his friends as Aniba, has been practicing pottery since he was eleven years old. His hands slide effortlessly over the material and can create any shape or pattern generated by his rich imagination. As a Moroccan artisan in the small city of Safi some days his workshop makes a profit and some days it doesn’t, but he wouldn’t want it any other way. “I can’t control myself,” he says. “This craft is in my blood.”
