Ahidous is a traditional style of collective performance popular in the mountainous regions of Morocco. The dance is one of tribal war and resistance and its original purpose was to celebrate victory. Nowadays, it is mainly performed during festivities such as weddings and circumcision ceremonies. The dance’s formation consists of three parts: the iffus dancers on the right, representing the attack against the enemy, the wammas in the middle to represent joy, and the aɛsri on the left representing the resting after a victory.
