Agdor is a choreographed musical genre inherited from the Sahrawi heritage/tradition. It is based on three main/essential pillars : the “Reggasa”, the dancer in the centre of the assembly, the “Neggar” who guides/sets the tempo and the “Hemmaya”, the chorus that sit in a cercle called: “Lgara”.
The singers starts the performance with praises of the prophet before intoning/chanting local chants that talks about romance and love…
Lgara is usually small in size, the poems singed in Hassani are short but the energy created by this spectacle is enough to infuse an air of celebration and reminds of the Sahrawi roots…
