LOCATION : ADOUZ, AL HOCEIMA
In the old village of Adouz, within the province of Al Hoceima lies the Mausoleum of Sheikh Ali Hassoun Al-Adouzi. An 800 years old local landmark. The story begins when Ali Hassoun finished his studies as a disciple under Shiekh Abou Daoud Mouzahim, who instructed him to found his own Rabita at the heights of Ayt Harchoun village where he also founded his own Zawiya: Azzawiya Al-Hassounia in Adouz. The latter was one of the most important Sufi centres in the region. Known by everyone, Sheikh Al Adouzi was also a major preacher of the Maliki doctrine in the northern region of the kingdom.
Nowadays, Ali Hassoun Al Adouzi still holds a significant spiritual influence in the region, after his many virtues and merits that earned him the title of the Greatest Sheikh of the Rif.
