LOCATION: Bouarfa
It’s hard to imagine today how Bouarfa was once the economic engine of this desert region of the middle Atlas. However, thanks to the manganese of the Ain Baida mine that was extracted by the French under the protectorate, this small rural town witnessed an unprecedented boom. Nonetheless, good fortunes would not last in the dawning age of the newly re-emerging kingdom.
