LOCATION : Adouz, Al Hoceima
The mosque of Adouz village, located in the highlands of Al Hoceima national park, is among the oldest buildings in the region. According to many historians, the mosque was built under the regime of Sultan Abou Hassan Al Marini, also known as: “ The Black Sultan”, during the Merinid dynasty of the 1300s. Over the centuries, its walls have stood firm amidst a backdrop of multiple eras marked by conflict in the region, yet today, due to poor quality and unapproved attempts to renovate it, the mosque has never needed someone to fight for its preservation as much as it does now.
