Description Scientifique
Ahmed El Bidaoui is a Moroccan artist and composer who was born in the 1930’s. He was known for singing the Moroccan modern music and being one of the pioneers to introduce this genre to the Moroccan society. Following the independence of the country, Ahmed’s music started to be promoted all over the Moroccan kingdom, because of the fact that the oriental music was more dominant all along the colonization era.\r
Ahmed was also an instrument player who led the Royal orchestra of modern Music for years. In 1964, he re-arranged in his own way, the song “Al far’ha Alkoubra” of Egypt’s Hoda Sultan, to become one of the favorite escorts of King Hassan ll.\r
Later on, he released another hit, which rapidly became a national classic “yajaal lak fi koulli khoutwa salama”. Ahmed El Bidaoui died in 1991, in the city of Sala, leaving behind a library of modern national songs such as “Ya Habibi Afiq”, “ Intidar” and “ Tala Intidarouka” . Many festivals in Morocco pay him a tribute with documentary films, cultural debates, and Expositions about his musical career.
