Description Scientifique
Aguelmam Tifounassines is a lake located on the road to Midelt, specifically about forty kilometers from the city of Azrou. It is characterized by a mixture of slacustres habitats of mountain and swamp of low plain. The lake is composed of a deep lake part commonly known as the crater, fed by a spring and a marshy zone and shallow, often drying over a period of more or less long of the year and then serving as grazing cattle. The water level which determines the respective share of these components of the wetland varies greatly depending on the year and the season. The vegetation cover of the site is reduced due to overgrazing and remains only on the edges of the areas which remain in water and consequently inaccessible to the cattle. Among the species identified are: Hypercium sp, Myriophyllum spicatum, Nasturium officinale and Phragmites communis.
