Description Scientifique
The lake of sidi Ali is located in the province of Khénifra and it’s one of the widely known natural lakes of Morocco. It’s considered as one of the most important lakes in Morocco for two main reasons, the first reason is: its geographical dimensions as it occupies 400 ha of land and 37 m of depth, the second reason is : Sidi Ali lake is of volcanic origins (Lake of volcanic dam). In addition to that, the water of the lake is housed in a syncline dominated by the anticline curve of Sidi-Ali Mountain.
The south side of the lake is wooded by three essiencial types of trees that are Cedar (Cedrus atlantica), Juniperus thurifera (Juniperus thurifera) and Oak (Quercus rotundifolia). As for the vegetation of the plain that surrounds the lagoon is composed mainly of Helosciadium nodiflorum, Juncusbufonius, Myriophyllum spicatum, Rannunculus sp, Rumex pulcher, Scirpus lacustris, Elocharis palustris and Tolypella hispanica.
