Isli is one of the largest and deepest natural lakes in North Africa with 2.55 km2 surface area and 95 m depth. It is located in the central part of the Moroccan High Atlas . On the other hand, Tislit is located about 8 km to the west of Isli and is a smaller lake in comparison with the former, with a surface area of 1.3 km2 and a comparatively reduced depth of about 16 m.
