Description Scientifique
Isli and Tislit are two widely known lakes in Morocco that are situated in the Imilchil region. Isli is one of the largest and deepest natural lakes in North Africa with 2.55 km2 surface area and 95 m depth. It is located in the central part of the Moroccan High Atlas . On the other hand, Tislit is located about 8 km to the west of Isli and is a smaller lake in comparison with the former, with a surface area of 1.3 km2 and a comparatively reduced depth of about 16 m.
The lakes' aquatic and waterfront flora is scarce, composed of common reeds and a few clumps of massettes. The aquatic fauna, however, is rich and composed of the trout fario, as well as the pike and the barbel. As for birds, the lakes host Coot, Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, Chickweed and Mongoose.\r

Isli : is an Amazigh word that means groom.\r
Tislit : is an Amazigh word that means bride.
