Description Scientifique
Aguelmame Azegueza is a lake located in the Middle Atlas inside the National Parc of Khenifra. The lake occupies 62 ha of land and 26m of profound. It’s considered as a historical monument by Vizirial order of 28.03.1950 and one of the two Moroccan lakes that are alkaline ( its water contains a huge amount of carbonates).
The lake is surrounded by diffrent types of trees such as cedars and oaks. In its clear blue waters strewn with aquatic grasses, the lake is populated with pike, carp perch , tench and roach. Its aquatic fauna is the duck and the waterhen.
Etymology : The origin of the word « Aguelman Azegza » is Amazigh and it means the blue lake.
